Program Details
The Adaptive Skating HTX program teaches children (ages 3-18) with disabilities how to ice skate! The program is hosted by Rice University Adaptive Skating. Students receive 60 minutes of instruction with our volunteer coaches. We offer a 1:1 Student-to-Instructor ratio upon assessment. The estimated program cost is $120 for 6 weeks and includes FREE skate rental.
Our instructing team includes highly experienced skaters from Rice University, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas A&M School of Medicine, and UTHealth Houston!
No skating experience is necessary! Students must bring a helmet. We also recommend gloves, snow pants, a jacket, and non-plastic elbow/knee/butt pads. Because of our low student-instructor ratio and small, intimate classes, limited spots are available!
All interested participants should have physical mobility and verbal and/or non-verbal communication. Parents must be present at all times during lessons.
